How about the muffed punt on the Fair catch and they called KCI...(not saying they are wrong)

What do we think about it and how would that apply to NFHS rules?

That is a NFL rule, and the NCAA has the same rule, but the NF does NOT. No foul in NF. Blow it dead and it would be K's ball for a 1st down.

In NF once the fair catch rec muffs the ball, even straight up in the air, fair catch is off.

Agreed. We had this a couple of seasons ago and thankfully, got it right.

If it were an NCAA game, we have to give him a chance to complete the catch. There are judgemental limitations as to just how far one lets the receiver go to complete this catch.

Since it was an NF game, the protection ceases. Is this fair? I have my own opinions on this, but per the book he can be legally contacted by the kicking team.
