OK, I will admit this is one of those things that drives me crazy, but for the majority of others, it must not. Either that or I'm the only person in the world that sweats heavily all over. I apologize to those that think this is stupid, but it really bothers the crud out of me.

2 weeks ago, I posted about belt stains on my knickers. I thought they were caused by the cheap quality belt I had. So, I went a week ago and got another leather black belt, hoping the dye was better saturated. Well, it was worse: instead of spot stains, it was all over the belted part. That was the only time I wore the belt, but the good thing was spray and wash got the majority of that belt's stains out.

So, I called Honigs, who didn't have their vinyl belt in, but assured me the patent leather belt would work fine with no stains. I wore it on a chain crew last Friday without incident, but I didn't sweat much at all. Saturday, the stains were much worse than the original belt, but not as bad as the other one I got. I had hoped that maybe I just hadn't got the other belt's stains out, so I wore the patent leather again today, with bad results.

I realize the belt covers the majority of where it stains and it isn't visible, but the knickers I have now are getting smaller by the week and I was hoping to be able to offer them for sale to a new official next year. Now, they are practically ruined. Further, I can't stand having to deal with those stains after every game.

I will settle right now for a lesson learned and a belt that doesn't mark, regardless of how bad you sweat. Please, somebody, offer me some help here: where can I get such a thing.

Are they really, or are you just consuming more calories then you're burning?

Sweaty belt

I've never heard of this problem (the belt stain not the pants "shrinking")

I've used an black elastic belt more commonly used in baseball uniforms for years now. Never had such a problem.

Also- do you wear any gym shorts underneath to hide the stripes between your pants and your undershorts? If not, that might help absorb the extra perspiration.

>>getting smaller by the week<<

You better make that "getting larger." I've dropped about 25 lbs. since my first game in August, and expect to be down 40 by the end of the season. Tonight I went back to my original belt and I've put the buckle on three different holes.

Thanks for the restatement, but here is one of my own, from the original post: "Honigs, who didn't have their vinyl belt in, but assured me the patent leather belt would work fine with no stains. I wore it on a chain crew last Friday without incident, but I didn't sweat much at all. Saturday, the stains were much worse than the original belt..."

I've tried it, and it is worse.

>>Also- do you wear any gym shorts underneath to hide the stripes between your pants and your undershorts? If not, that might help absorb the extra perspiration.<<

At the risk of getting too personal and giving you more info than asked for, I wear a pair of coolmax briefs, then a pair of black under armour "long" shorts, then the pants. The problem is that absorbing sweat would, if its an issue at all, make matters worse. There's no need to "hide" the stripes as I tuck my shirt into my UA shorts, and the honigs elite knickers do a great job anyway. At least in front of the mirror; can't say what they look like on the field.

Thanks for the input. Apparantly, it is either the vinyl and hope the dye is "more" permanent than the leather, or the strech one and hope the same.

I got a new leather belt last year and it has stained my knickers some. The stains are under the belt and as I will continue to wear the knickers for some years I don't feel that the stain will be a problem even though I an not impressed that it is there. Before that I always wore an elastic belt. I have decided that I don't really like those any more. I like tight shoes, a tight hat, and a tight belt. So I ordered a vinyl belt from Honig's. A black vinyl belt will not stain your knickers. The material is black and is not a different color stained black.

I bought my leather belt thru Honig's 3 years ago. I sweat with the best of them (my wife laughs because I can sweat with no coat on in WI in January) and I have never had any stains from the belt on my knickers. Is it coming from somewhere else, like flags or bean bags?
