Those are stirups. Gotta love the Canadians' sense of style!

I know that, but the pair of NCAA socks I have don't come up nearly as high. I'm just wondering if they sell socks that do.

I don't think so, that is really high.

Those shirts are interesting too. It looks like a 2" white stripe and then a 1" black stripe. That is unless it is metric. Then you have a 5 cm white stripe and a 2.5 cm black stripe.

It's the McDavid Intera shirt, I purchased it in the US, at Lester's Upstate Sports one of my trips to upstate New York last year.

Yes, Trenway Textiles. They have a 27" over the calf sock. They are a heavier weight but most comfortable. I have been wearing these for several years now.

See ref18's photo.
I thought his point of reference was the bimbette on the near sideline, not the down marker attandant on the far sideline.

You are probably correct. I was only working on my first coffee when I replied and was still taking the day too seriously. For her I suggest hockey socks.

Lightbulb Twin City socks

Yo! Cagey,
I was into something a little more transparent --- my thinking that is, not the socks.

The closest official in the frame (#18) is clearly wearing stirrups. However, all of the socks that I have bought from Honigs come up that far. This may have something to do with the fact that I'm only 5'4", but it still seems that I likely need new socks.

Are we being secretly watched on this forum. Tonight, when I went to page 2 of this thread you would never guess what the Google ads were? Well maybe you would but I will tell you anyway.

Wigwam socks,
Kunert socks, and
An ad selling toe socks.

I hate putting on just one pair of socks but can you imagine putting on a little sock for each toe?

The new mandate next year: all officials will be required to wear "Land-of-10,000-Lakes toe socks" as undergarment to their "Twin City socks". NF rules committee is still mulling over the size of the stripes on the toe socks and how miniscule the manufacturer's logo must be to comply as legal equipment. I sure hope they do not mandate that each toe sock must carry the NF/NCAA tag to be legal.

In 25 years I have not seen a football sock where the black starts that high. Every football sock I have ever purchased (post stirrup era excluded) the ankle socks were high enough.

If the black of the your TC socks starts that high the stripes would end above your knee. Maybe you got a pair made for someone with a size 22 shoe or someone sold you a "blemished" pair (with or without telling you). Maybe you are only 3'10" tall.
I'm 6'4". I have no problem buying the tube sock-type football socks. The black starts between 6" and 7" from the top of my shoe. The F924 at PlusPOS is a perfect example of the type of sock I'm speaking of. In fact, if you look at the socks the boxman is worrying in ref18's post, you'll see the type of sock I speak of.

Socks that are 2" or 3" inches from the top of the shoe look plain stupid.

I believe that's one of the major selling points of Google ads - they are tailored to the content that appears on the page, based on results from Google's search engine.

Daryl-
I was surprised to find out that the socks are really from New Jersey. Cue the Pace Picantesq response, "New York City?!?" Being originally from the Twin Cities, I was curious. Nice reference to the 10,000 lakes btw. I like it!
