REPLY: It's great to have one of the 'old veterans' back with us. Did you ever think you'd hear yourself referred to that way five years ago??
By the way, did you see your uncle Ed at the Pro Bowl in February?

Hey Parepat - that's another good tip, I do it to. I'm always talking to myself, on the field that is. On field goals, I keep saying to myself, and my wings, "ball remains alive, ball remains alive," plus giving our crew signal for that. At quarter breaks, I & the ump write down the ball placement, the LM marks it on the chain with a clip and I repeat the location to my ump all the way down the field - especially who has the ball and which direction we're going to be going ( a lot of guys forget to note that).
For you other guys - spring football!!! Get me on a crew! In Wisconsin, we start in late August and we're in early November. All this work for 10-15 varsity games, but it's worth it. |

It is amazing how time really flies when you're having fun. I did get a fleeting glance of "Ole Unkie Ed" at the Pro Bowl. But they always seem to focus on the players, players players |
