Hawaii...
In Hawaii, each league association is responsible for the number of officials.
5 officials for varsity seems to be the minimum requirement state-wide... Our league is authorized to use 7 (we have about 30 officials and timers serving 6 schools so 7 man is not a problem). JV games are normally 4 or 5... Pop Warner we use at least 3 for the smallest division, 4 for the next largest, and 4 or 5 for the big kids. For the Division I and II state play-off and championship games, the state association is in charge of selecting officials and CCA 7 man mechanics is used.

Oregon - LOWEST PAY IN THE NATION, 51st Place
GREETING from Oregon
51st in pay nation wide - confirmed by Referee Magazine, 11/04 issue Oregon - NET PAY HS Varisty - 5 man crew (4A Game) - $42.30 HS Varsity - 4 man crew (3A Game) - $40.40 HS Varsity - 4 man crew (2A Game) - $38.50 HS Varsity - 4 man crew (1A Game) - $38.50 HS JV - 4 man crew (4A game) - $31.80 HS JV - 3 man crew (3A game) - $30.40 HS JV - 3 man crew (2A game) - $29.00 HS JV - 3 man crew (1A game) - $29.00 HS Frosh - 3 man crew (4A game) - $30.00 HS Frosh - 3 man crew (3A game) - $28.50 Jr High - 3 man crew - $26.60 Youth Football - 3 man crew - $29.50 or $26.60 (depending on league) In addition to the above pay we are paid mileage. As an example, I live in Portland and my mileage ranged anywhere from $0.73 to $4.38 per game. For all levels of playoff games we use five officials, except for 8-Man (1A) which uses 4. (Where you really need five) The net pay is the same for all levels of playoffs, and for the first round through the finals. Brace yourself... a whopping $49.50 We are hoping the publicity in Referee Magazine may help our cause, but we are not going to hold our breath! Anybody thinking of moving up here???
