Field Goal Attempt

I recently participated in a game where there was a questionable call in a very close game. The rules are the same as NFL but if the rule is different or the same in NCAA or HS then please let me know also.
Team A was going for a field goal at the 25 yard line and Team B blocks it. Team B picks up the ball and runs it back to the 40 yard line before fumbling it. Team A recovers it on the 45 yard line.
Is it team A's ball where they recovered it or is a single position and it's team B's ball? Where would the ball be placed?

Downs have been broken. Team A 1D/10 @ the 45. Clock on the RFP before the 3MW or on the snap under the 3MW.

REPLY: Just to follow up on JugglingReferee's comments about Canadian football, Fed and NCAA are different. For both Federation and NCAA, the clock would next start on the snap.

I'm not understanding why this is a questionable call. In all levels, it's A's ball at the 45. The only difference between rules regard whether the clock starts on the snap or on the ready (or stops at all for that matter).

The problem was that there were high school refs doing the game under NFL rules. By the statements above, they made the wrong call because team B recieved the ball at the 40 yrd line.

Once team B established possession a new series will be awarded whatever team is in posssession at the end of the down (barring any accepted foul). This holds for all levels.
So your HS refs should have known this.

Just my two cents...never ask high school officials to call a game under NFL rules. Mostly because no one has any idea what the rules are.

The only way I can conceive of this happening is if they ruled B down before the fumble.
