In NCAA football, is the Unsportsmanlike Conduct Penalty in a "Deadball" situation an automatic first down?

I say it is not an automatic first down.

Thanks in advance.

Unsportsmanlike fouls are not automatic first downs. Personal Fouls however are auto 1st downs.

"Flagrant" personal fouls requiring disqualification by Team B are automatic first downs.

REPLY: Ed, I assume you're referring to Federation rules. Where exactly do Fed rules say that flagrant PFs against B come with an automatic first down?? I don't believe you're correct on this one.

I was having trouble trying to come up with a NFHS one too.
Defensive PFs under NCAA will result in an auto-1st.

Only automatic first downs for NFHS are:
Roughing the passer, kicker, holder or center. And Defensive Pass Interference.

Not referring to NFHS rules. Took a look at the NCAA Rule Book.

REPLY: Thanks Ed...I agree, with one point of clarification. In NCAA, the personal foul by the defense need not be flagrant to award an automatic first down. Any PF by B will result in an auto first.
