Umpire starting position

Umpires do start head up with center or diagonal with your referee (outside the tackle opposite the R)

5-7 yards from the LOS, behind (and to the side) of any linebackers.

Shaded away from the TE if possible.

Keep the ball/snap in view (between if DT's legs if necessary, but avoid doing this unless you have no other choice).

Try not to go outside the guard (on either side). NEVER be outside the tackle.

If a Linebacker or Safety asks you to move, do so if you can.

Don't care what side the R is on (he'll usually be on your left side).
