Hey there, great site, what a God's send!!

Anyway, I do have one problem/suggestion?

I'm new to umpiring and as a result I'm doing CO-ED slowpitch and low div mens slow pitch. Alot of the discussions in the Softball forum pertain to Fastpitch and NCAA.

Do you think a "Slow-Pitch" / "Fast-Pitch" distincion within the "Softball" forums would be useful?

It's just hard for us Rooks to keep the subtle differences in the rules seperated. *sigh*

A separate forum for Slow pitch and Fast pitch seems unlikely.
There are some distinctions between SP and FP, but I believe most of those differences are noted in the same ASA book. If you don't have a book, you may consider picking one up.
With regard to this forum, perhaps you could try noting the game (SP, Modified SP, Co-ed, Little League, Fast pitch) in which you are interested in your post and you may get your desired information.

Good deal. I do have the 2005 ASA Rule Book (Umpires Addition), and will make sure I specify SP in my posts.

We has this discussion in the past on the softball forum. It went back and forth for awhile until Mike (IRISHMAFIA) pointed out that for approx 90% of the ASA rulebook, the rules are the same regardless of the method of delivery of the ball to the batter.

It's always best to preface your questions with a desired ruleset or interp. It just helps keep the discussion on track.

I am still trying to figure out what officials doing math have to with rules!!!
