Scorebook Error

Two teams played and went to overtime and team A lost 38-42. After reviewing and completing filling out book with totals. The home book had the final after 4 36-34 for team A. No one corrected during the game we noticed this after. What is the protocol for this anyone?

Case Book 2.11.10 Sit. C states "Once the ball becomes live in the overtime, the overtime will be played even though a subsequent correction of an error or mistake changes the score."

And you can't even adjust the final score to 40-42 because it has already been approved.

And this is why you should have two people keeping score during the game (and why they should be sitting next to each other and comparing notes throughout the game).

As another poster noted, once the OT begins it will be played even if a scoring change needs to be made from the first 4 quarters.
If the officials don't make a change in the score before leaving after the conclusion of the game, then by rule no correction can be made and the result stands.

On a side note, how in the world does OT start without the home scorekeeper saying something, hitting the horn, doing whatever to get the attention of a referee to ask why they are starting OT when the score is not tied?

because the running score matches the scoreboard, but the details don't match the running score.
