Last year I had a boys' FR game where the Visitor's got ripped. The Visitor's HC had been a whiner (meaning he would step right up to the line in the sand but would not step over it) all game. V1 commits a CF against H1 right in front of the Visitor's bench. The Visitor's HC said to me after I called the foul on V1: "That's a terrible call." To which I replied: "Not as terrible as your coaching." I really shouldn't have said anything but it was one of those times where the young whippersnapper had to be put in his place. LOL!

A "that's terrible" alone usually don't have me bat an eyelid.

A " THAT's TURRIBLE" with a wave of the arms for everyone in the gym to see...different story.

Guess I'm different because that coach gets a T right away for that comment. It's disrespectful of my effort and certainly unsporting behavior.

Yep. I have told coaches that they asked the question and I answered it. If they already know they won't like the answer, they shouldn't ask in the first place.

Coaches constantly chirping about travels or fouls, yelling across the court, or saying things like "That's terrible" after asking a question have gotten old with me and will have a short leash rather quickly.

The part in red would warrant a couple week suspension for an official.

Me personally, the first time a coach has something to say that is not a question respectfully, I let them know and move on. However, if they continue I will proceed with a T.

Agreed. It's actually terrible.
