Bomb threat

I had a JUCCO game tonight, and with 4:11 remaining in the first half, a foul occurs, and immediately after my partner reports it, a timeout request comes in, and the PA announcer informs everyone that we must evacuate the gym. So out the door everyone goes, to a parking lot filled with police cruisers. We were then escorted to the admissions building across the parking lot, where we sat for 2 and a half hours while the boys in blue swept the building. (We being everyone, players, coaches, fans, officials, and the building's event staff)

As it turns out, nothing was found, and the game was resumed from the POI, after we gave the teams 10 minutes to get warmed up again. Thank God the threat turned out to not be credible, but that was for sure a first for me.

Anyone else ever have anything like this happen mid game??

I've wished for it a few times.

I've had lightning halt a college soccer match for a long enough time that we were not able continue per NCAA rule.

From NCAAW rule book, 5.4 Interrupted Game- When a game is interrupted because of events beyond the control of the responsible administrative authorities, it shall be continued from the point of interruption unless the teams agree otherwise or there are applicanle conference, league or association rules.

There was a brief discussion of canceling the remainder of the first half and after the delay calling that the start of the second half. I was unsure if that rule implied the ability to cancel 4+ minutes of the first half. Didn't need to, but could we have done that?
