Texas vs Iowa FF2 (Video)

2:10 left in second half, player goes to the hoop. Defender comes at him and Knocks him over. Thoughts on whether this should be FF2 or FF1. I thought it was more of a really hard defensive play. Definitely FF1 but not sure it warranted FF2. Curious to hear everyone's thoughts.

On a secondary not, I really did not see this as a FF2. It looked more like a FF1.

Peace

Definitely not a FF2, and while it did not look very pretty I would have a difficult time selling a FF1; it just looked ugly.

Yeah I've got a F1, I think the defender was trying to play vertical D but it went wrong. Looks severe or extreme because of the result but only excessive/unnecessary for me.

Not sold that this is an F1.....Back in the 90's in the BE, it is definitely NOT an F1. Summer leagues from from NY to DMV , just a common foul.

While there was certainly a foul and it was ugly the defender really didn't do that much. The ugliness was more caused by the shooter coming in aggressively and the angle and location of the contact, not the force of the contact. He didn't do anything more than what happens several times per game. I have a common foul unless there was some earlier action that would make it more suspect.

And, the ball-handler extended his left arm and hand into the defender's face, which contributed to the contact, and the appearance that the defender had excessively contacted the shooter.

I agree. Offense is up by 16 w 2 minutes to go and he is coming in and apparently trying to dunk over top of defense. He falls hard because he is pulling ball back to throw it down it looks to me...

I can understand the F1 cause of hard fall. but not sure the game needed it.(it may have). Not an f2. Thx

I have an FF1, and that's only because of the ugliness of the play.

It was more of a situation of a little guy running into a big guy. Defender made a play on the ball, and actually was vertical until he came down on A1's arm.

Ugliness does not make it a FF1.

I don't think this is a flagrant foul, 1 or 2. It's a hard foul and looks bad. But not flagrant.
