And, I still don't get it. It's not like I'm going to travel from IL to CT to work for $84.73 (or whatever the latest amount is).

Sure, if the rate in the next county over is more (or less) than what I usually get, that matters to me. The next state or the next time zone -- not so much.

I've never understood it, either. It's going to vary by region, locality, and sometimes by conference or school. I could see some benefit if you're looking to negotiate, but even then only the information for nearby officials would be of any relevance. ADs in Iowa, for example, aren't going to care what officials are getting in New York.

What are game fees like around the country? I am very interested to see what everyone is paid.

You have to be kidding: $35 for a JrHS doubleheader. Up here in NW Ohio, the fee for a JrHS doubleheader is $50 to $55.

The Constitution State:
Varsity Fee: $93.19 (per person).
Sub Varsity Fee (includes public middle schools): $60.45 (per person).
Almost all two person games.
No mileage. Longest one way trip for anyone in my little corner of Connecticut is about 50 miles. Most trips are about 15-20 miles, one way.
Board dues about $125.00 annually.
7% assignment fee.
We get a raise every year equal to the average teacher salary increase in the State of Connecticut.

I remember when I was getting paid $25.00 a game, but that was back in the early 1980's. Fees change, and will probably continue to do so. See the title of my post.

Why wouldn't they just round up or down to the nearest whole dollar amount? $93.19? What's the .19 for? Knowing CT...probably to offset a whistle tax or something equally obscure. :p

Probably due to the yearly percentage increase tied to teacher's salaries.. Over a few years, since the rounding that would be applied to each game rather than a season total, it could lead to the loss (or gain) of several dollars per game relative to the non-rounded amount.

Bingo. I see that you are very familiar with taxes in Connecticut. If it can be taxed, we tax it, whether it's nailed down, or not.

*Hmmm, oh really? but I'd still prefer our trailmix, and orange slices--Catholics are such nice folks and the parish rector is there at games and also sister mary alice robers--who are also nice folks.
Next time I will go to confession.

Beer makes me piss too much, plus I'd be too worried about my public image as "official" and also very scared to get pulled over for dui driving home from the games.
But I'm sure you jest

too much lol!

My word! Even the Catholics do better than that! When I do their 8th grade games our crew always gets yummay orange slices, trailmix, and a blessings.

For one beer? Nothing tastes better than an ice cold can of beer (the athletic director offers us a cooler filled with ice containing a few cans of ice cold beer, and soda) immediately after working a game.

And I'm not kidding. It's true.
