Arrow Game Fees: What are you paid in your area?

Game Fees in Central Ohio are as follows:
Varsity $60 (up from $57 last season)
JV $40
Freshman $35 (up from $30 last season)
Middle School $35

What are game fees like around the country? I am very interested to see what everyone is paid.

Welcome to the forum BTW.

This is discussed every year. But to be honest, we are not payed the same across the board. It is based on school or conference.

For varsity boys basketball, it appears I will be paid around $57 to $65. I heard of one conference the other night paying $68 dollars for a varsity game.

I cannot tell you anything about lower level as right now I have no such games.

Peace

$110 for 2 games 2 man crew.
$90-$100 for 3 man.

This is the going rate. Schools can pay whatever they want here. No set fees, except for the playoffs. We work double headers each night. Boys and girls.

At least.

And, I still don't get it. It's not like I'm going to travel from IL to CT to work for $84.73 (or whatever the latest amount is).

Sure, if the rate in the next county over is more (or less) than what I usually get, that matters to me. The next state or the next time zone -- not so much.

$65, generally for 3-person which is all we do.
It's all relative anyway. If that rate increases it'll only get swallowed up by a new shirt or pants or additional camp or two. Regardless, with standard mileage deducted and all applicable expenses factored in, it always seems to net out to about 24.00 per game.

When I first started working our local kids rec league, rookie refs got $5 a game, second year refs got $7 and if you had at least three years of reffing experience, you got $9. We got checks mailed to us once a month.

We didn't get any mileage but, of course, we were riding our horses to the games because cars hadn't been invented yet.

NYC Public Schools = $107.22 for Varsity (2-person). We do 3-person but only in the playoffs, starting in the QF. JV = $80.42.

Whenever NYC public school teachers get a raise, so do we. Don't ask me how that happened but I'd like to shake the hand of the person who brokered the deal.

NYC Catholic & Private Schools = $115 for Varsity (2-person)

Varsity is $50-$60 for three man.

JV and freshman is $45-$50.

Middle school is $25/game.

If you are doing it for the money, you would be better off doing the lower levels and staying in town. Varsity around these parts can be an hour or more one way.

Not so fast. I could see them winning every game until OSU. And even then they could give them a run for their money. Not over yet.

Peace

If you use the search engine above, you'll find your questions answer many times before.

Texas rates are set by the UIL as follows. I adjusted to include estimated travel fees paid which can range from $12 to $15 depending on distance the game is from a central point within your metro area.

Varsity $70
Sub varsity $55
Middle School $45

There is a plan afoot to raise pay next year but it literally will take a rewrite of an act of (Texas) congress to get it done.
