Thought this was a nice recognition of what basketball officials endure during the off-season in the hopes of getting hired or increasing their game schedules.

Well done piece. The reporter didn't try to be clever or funny...just clear and accurate (which is kind of rare).

Agreed. Believe me, we spent a lot of time talking about the phantom "palming" call this past weekend!

For the lay person (e.g., fans in the stands) who viewed that news clip, it certainly gave them an appreciation for the amount of off-season training that officials undetake to improve their performance.

We're doing the same thing in volleyball out here.It was nice to see the behind the scenes of a basketball officials camp.
