Well done piece. The reporter didn't try to be clever or funny...just clear and accurate (which is kind of rare).

Agreed. Believe me, we spent a lot of time talking about the phantom "palming" call this past weekend! :)

For the lay person (e.g., fans in the stands) who viewed that news clip, it certainly gave them an appreciation for the amount of off-season training that officials undetake to improve their performance.

We're doing the same thing in volleyball out here.It was nice to see the behind the scenes of a basketball officials camp.
