Crew Chief wise, we still have Danny and Joey Crawford and Tony Brothers.

Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Interestingly Joey has not worked in nearly two weeks. His last game was game 4 of the Thunder-Spurs series on May 27th. I assume that means he would have worked the potential Pacers-Heat game 7 but obviously we never got there.

Duke Callahan and Monty McCutchen aren't crew chief material ?????

This just in......Foster is working every game !!!!! There is complete euphoria in DC !!!!!!����������

Joey C. is going to be tired Friday.

Wow, 2 Finals vets have been alternates so far.

Seems the NBA is switching to a crew-style assignments for the playoffs, I think this is a 3rd or 4th time Monty, Zarba, and Brothers are working together in the last few rounds.

I don't have the stats, but Joey has worked two Finals games in every series that I can remember (assuming it's not a sweep). Assuming Joey gets the call for game 4, I doubt he works again. He could work game 7 with some combination of Foster/McCutchen/Danny C, but given that last year he only worked game 6 (maybe due to Spurs history?) he could be done.

NBA went to a more crew style system last year. Also, Joe Crawford worked games 2 and 6 last year

It would be interesting to find out how they choose the crews.

Yeah, I meant "only game 6" in that he has worked every Finals game 7 since the 80's or something like that.

Booooo. I nominate potato for alternate. I could see him patrolling the sidelines and commandeering a coaches whiteboard to draw an illustration of why that play was traveling while throwing out phrases like "hot step", "butt bumping" and "intense D".

You never seen how good I can sit in a locker room by myself for 2.5 hrs. NBA alternates don't sit at the table unlike college officials....

Looks like their crew strategy paid off! Other than a couple individual games (Clips-Thunder game 5, Pacers-Heat game 5, Heat-Spurs game 2), this playoffs went off without much public controversy.

Based on Joey's game 4 assignment it looked as though he was set up to work a potential game 7, unlike last year where he "only" worked game 6. This makes me even more curious why it was chosen that way last year.....was it his history (albeit in 2007) with the Spurs? Was it a lackluster season or first couple rounds? Whatever it was, it seems to have been forgotten this year.

Zarba did great in game 3 (as did Jason Phillips in his 2nd Finals game), hopefully Goble will get his shot next year.

Instead of looking at it negatively, why not look at it as the guys who worked Game 7 EARNED that privilege, rather than Joey C. doing something wrong. After all, working 2 games in the Finals is hardly indicative of having a "lackluster" season.

And your "wondering" assumes only negativity towards Joey C's performance, rather than excellence in someone else's. :rolleyes:

I swear, I never understand why people post stuff on the internet and then get all in a funk when someone doesn't respond exactly like they want them to.
