I am administering the free three throw, "Ladies, basket was good. We have 1 throw, wait for the hit, go get it."

V1 misses, everyone stands around, clock doesn't start, V1 picks it up for a layup. Home team down 7. Clock still not started. I should have called the game. We blow the whistle, partner instructs table to start clock on inbound. Inbound, horn blows, game over.

Besides calling the game after the free throw, how would you handle this?

Pretty heads up play by V1!!! Don't know if this happened or not but the C should have his arm up as the free throw is in the air. Then after the miss his arm goes down and the clock starts after the ball is touched (on the rebound). Sounds like the scoreboard guy had an oops moment and considering that, your partner probably did the right thing.

This is what should've happened.

No way I'm doing this. The official gave correct (if too much) information. There is no need to stop play here.

I concur with Adam. When the official provides accurate information to the players there is no justification in the rules for stopping play and using the AP. the officials have to wait for one of the players to figure it out.
