Player ejection

On Tuesday night I had my 2nd player ejection in 8 years of full time score-keeping.Player served his suspension and will be eligible on Tuesday night. Here is the tape of tech #2.We are curious as to whether this meets everyone's definition of taunting? Player receiving the T is W23,his second of the game which constituted immediate ejection and a 1 game suspension. For those of you who are Pac-12 buffs the coach of the blue team is former Cal player Brian Weathers.

Action

Not being there hard to say - but I didn't see any action that would move me to T or eject - must have been something he said.

You'd clearly need to see this from L's angle to rule on it.

Looks like he may be saying something. I'd want to know what the L saw/heard.

The T needs to keep his hands off the players.

All the video shows is W23 popping up off the floor and saying something to B22....does it rise to the level deserving a T?...no context or history available so I'd defer to the officials on the floor. If this was his second unsportsmanlike foul...you'd think he might have learned from the first one. Bye bye. Have a seat young man.

Agreed, if he already had one he was probably on a short leash anyway. Giving him the door sends a clear message that this behavior will not be tolerated. If this was the case I have no problem with the official taking care business.

I'm sure it was verbal. Keep in mind the leash is really short on someone who already has a T - especially if the first one was for something similar to this one.

I will not confuse disqualification with ejection. I will not confuse disqualifi...

Disqualify and ejection are two different things that carry different penalties.

You'll notice earlier in the video that W23 gets tied up for rebounding position and when he releases he kinda shoves off. Then when he draws the offensive foul it looks like he taunts there too.

Yes. One is a verb and the other is a noun.

For this (and similar) actions, we have specifically been instructed to use either "ejection" or "ejected" when writing the report to the state.

YMMV, of course.

For those of you looking for context here was the earlier T called on W23.

Two things:

1. Kids plays hard and has a lot of emotion. Coaches need to funnel that in a positive direction. Both coach and player fails here.

2. Do they have a shot clock? I thought I heard the crowd counting down, but the period didn't end. If so, shot clock with two-whistle? Wow...

j51969-California does employ the shot clock here and a vast majority of our games are 2 person.

Dang, you could have at least told us where the technical was so we wouldn't have to watch 7 minutes of video to find it.

Also, how did you get Michael J. Fox to record your games?
