Similar uniform confusion

Home team of white with blue inserts with blue numbers and blue bottoms VS visitors of blue with white inserts and white numbers and white bottoms.
Twice I lost my fouler in the lane (once having to ask players who it was) and once I reported a number of a player that was on the bench. It was similar to the herd of running zebras effect. No pun intended.
Try as I may it made me look so stupid at times. Any suggestions to help me. I started "bird dogging" and holding longer which helped somewhat.
