Iowa State-Oklahoma Continuation(?)...video

Small discussion in a FB group regarding whether this play could have been ruled continuation. Thoughts?

I vote "no" continuation. It looks like the player has to re-grab the ball after the foul.

I do not think his initial action after the foul was suggestive of a shooting motion. It looks like the foul was right after the rebound. He had to do too much spinning to even make a legitimate shot anyway.

I think that is probably the thinking of the official that made the call.

Peace

Foul before shooting motion. Red #3 has arm bar on rebounder, lead has great look as opposed to the camera angle.

My understanding is that, in college and below, there is no such thing as continuation. The question is "was the player fouled in a shooting motion or not?" In this case, he was not in shooting motion when he was fouled, so the shot is rightfully waived off.

Continuation = "was the player fouled in a shooting motion or not?"

(The NCAA and FED rules call it "continuous motion", iirc)

The rule or wording at all levels is exactly the same. Just as stated, they use a different wording to convey the very same action.

Peace

Okay, I thought a different question was being asked here.

No continuous motion. Rebounding foul.
