I'm in my 11th year and this is a first :

We have had bad weather in our area the last 2 weeks so many games have been postponed/cancelled .......I received call to see if I would officiate a "make up" 7/8th grade boys game.

I accepted and showed up last night..... getting ready and don't see a partner, ultimately he never showed. Discussed with AD and coaches that I would work the game alone if they felt comfortable (their last game of year) vs cancelling.

During captains meeting we discussed the limitations of 1 official and involved coaches and players asking them to "help me out on out of bounds plays". Midway through 3rd quarter ball went OOB and I couldn't tell who touched it .......... ready to go to arrow when player runs up to me and says he touched it last --- pretty cool.

Both coaches approached me after the game and thanked me and felt they recieved a good game.

I couldn't have done it without having this forum. The information available here is tremendous ................... a THANKS to all those who contribute.
