Ugly but you can give him his left foot as pivot foot. Say he wasn't 'in control' till the left foot came down.
Of course, if they would have put a whistle on it I'd be ok with it.. Just call me Mr Definitive! |

You're being generous.

Sure looks like he has control with right foot as the pivot foot. This is a travel in my opinion. But seldom gets called, especially in he college game.

Calling this travel is a game interrupter. There is absolutely no reason to nitpick this on a player that far from the basket when he nor any person he is even considering passing the ball to is under any kind of defensive pressure. Not a chance in hell the WS coach is even thinking or wanting a travel on that play either.

C is watching a match-up on his side of the key, and checking the match-up on the opposite side top of the key, with only peripheral attention to the ball-handler. T is watching the match-up of the guard on his side of the floor, with only peripheral attention to the ball-handler. Some assigner-evaluators have been stressing being aware of those match-ups, in anticipation of the ensuing action, so, a travel by the ball-handler, at that position, and prior to any play execution, may be missed. It doesn't make it "not a travel", it just happens.

30 years ago - Travel and the annoucers say 'That's what happens when you let your big man handle the ball that far from the basket. Good call'
Now - Never called a travel in D1 mens and if called, annoucers say 'The ref should never be calling that. It does not have anything to do with the play' |
