UCONN / GT Flagrant 1

Anyone see the flagrant 1 called against UCONN's Olander at about the 5 minute mark in the first half?

My initial thought was that if the hold on the Georgetown player had been called, the FF1 would have been avoided. If anyone can post a vid it would be appreciated.

Thoughts?

Foul should have been on blue....and I don't think a FF1 should be called there as a result. It wasn't an elbow, it wasn't swinging, it was just trying to get free of being held. Blue basically did that to himself.

Did they get the FF1 at the time or after going to the monitor?

(The rule and case book on this are confusing to me; that said I don't work much with monitors, so I don't spend much time on this section of the book).

The video shows the L is officiating rebounding action between A1 and B1, as he should be. Unfortunately, the C starts to bail out and head to the other end of the floor which means there are no eyes on the off ball rebounding action between A2 and B2. Seems like a good idea for the C to not be in a hurry to transition during rebounding action in any situation. This scenario indicates why we should stay put while there are still matchups in front of us.

I just took another look at the vid.

See anything odd about all three official's positioning?

How could you possibly justify a FF1 here? I got nothing. How bout a T on blue for flopping? Only half kidding...

Agree with #older, the C has to get the blue foul because it was pretty obvious.

Lead and C are on the same side while the T is opposite. Perhaps a rotation that wasn't picked up.
