Goaltend? KU/OSU

6:19 OSU players puts shot off backboard. KU player (McLemore?) then swipes it away. What am I missing here that made that legal?

Pretty sure I am going to get called a fan boy here, but it appeared that the ball was clear of the cylinder when the Kansas player touched it.

If the ball has contacted the backboard before the block/deflection by the defender (as described by the OP), this is irrelevant by NCAA rule.

It had rebounded past the rim as in wasn't above it was going to fall to the floor. But then again, I may have jaded eyes.

I'm having a hard time picturing what you're describing. Are you saying it was laid up or banked off of one side of the backboard, missed so badly that it passed over the rim to the other side of the backboard, was below the level of the rim, and was then contacted by the defender's block attempt? This makes no sense to me. Help me out.

I'm working off memory, but I believe the shot went off the backboard, hit the rim, then cleared the cylinder before being touched by the KU defender.
