The problem is that the name is deceptive.
Intentional: Adjective; Done on purpose; deliberate. An intentional foul is not necessarily done intentionally. Use a term that is neutral.

I get all that, I just don't see it as a problem because the only people who complain about it are officials. Coaches? Nope. Players? Nope. Parents? Who? Fans? Nope.
It maybe be a problem of semantics, but that's it.
