Thanks, I looked quick on their website.

And in that case, I go back to my first thought, "I promise you Grinnel saw this as an exhibition game."

I think the running score in the book we use where I'm the official scorer goes up to 136. We've never gotten close to the maximum, whatever the exact number is. But if it is 136, Taylor exceeded that on his own.

I know it doesn't get close to 179 in the book. Hmmm …

They must use a different book at Grinnell.

David Larson of Faith Baptist (the opponent) had 70 point while shooting 34 for 44 from the field. Much better stats IMO.

Mostly uncontested layups. Read the Deadspin article for details.

But apparently most of those were gimmie layups. At least he has a story for his grandkids! (evenutually)

Would it have been more heroic if he had waited for defenders to come over and guard him?

I'd be far more impressed if he could drop 100 against an NCAA school and not a small bible college. (Crossroads used to be ACCA [Association of Christian College Athletics]. I'm not sure if they still are ACCA members of if they've moved up to the NCCAA).
