NCAA-W Shortened time out
5-13-14(a) states "The team that requests a timeout may shorten that timeout when the captain/head coach notifies the official of the team’s intent."
When must the notification be made? When the time out is granted, or can returning to the floor early be considered notification? If the notification can happen when the calling team returns early, does that then give the other team the 15sec warning, or must they return immediately? I did not see clarification in the case book. I understand the sub time out, 5-14-14(b), but (a) is broader.

Thanks Bob, that was my assumption, but I wanted to be sure.

That's how we (NCAA-M) do it also.
