I do not know who was necessarily first, but I know I was here near the very beginning and guys like JR, BKref and Mark Padgett were here either before or around the same time. As state McGriffs was the first site that most of the early people frequented and we soon moved over here as there was some control over the content and it was a counter to Referee Magazine on some level as well. Maybe Brad can give a little more background, but I believe this forum started around 1997.

I don't remember it crashing ... maybe I couldn't convert the old postings when I moved to the new software. Of course, that was 12-13 years ago, so not sure how good my memory is on the subject!!
