The only reality show I and enjoy are sports. It is that simple. Who cares about some dumb show that they need the Super Bowl to promote?

Peace

I find that "reality" moniker a little too broad-based. Competition shows go as far back as Ted Mack's Amateur Hour. To me, there's a big difference between competing (be it The Voice, Biggest Loser, or Amazing Race) and following around whiny housewives or pregnant teenagers. The former features people who are trying to better their lives; the latter features people whose lives you're glad you don't have.

Besides, outside of sports, I'm still a game show geek at heart.

Most of it is still garbage whatever the show. Of course if I want to get a cheap laugh I will watch it and if I am very bored, but I certainly do not sit and watch it as appointment TV. This is why I hate this time of the year, there is nothing to do for the most part while at home. I would rather be away from the house officiating something. Oh well, to each his own.

Peace

My son is a sociologist. His area of specialty is pop culture, and he is presently studying the "Real Housewives" phenomena. He has been approached to co-author a book on the "Housewives" subject. bainsey hit the nail right on the head. This is exactly why people watch these shows. These gals may be rich, but that doesn't guarantee happiness.

I never watch these shows, however as I "cruise" through my cable stations I will occasionally come across "Mob Wives". Something about that show gets my attention. It only gets my attention for five, or ten, minutes, but it gets my attention. After a few minutes, I remember how horrible the show is, and I "cruise" to another station.
