It's Over

The season is over. For the first time since Thanksgiving, my arbiter schedule is empty. I've worked more games than ever, I think, this year, so it's going to be weird not having a game to get ready for.

Just curious, Snaq - how many games did you work for the season? BTW - I've got one more weekend of kids rec games (probably will have 4 or 5 that weekend) then spring kids league starts the second weekend in April.

Well I have two left and will be done on Friday. I am kind of looking forward to the next two games and watching basketball the following week. I love this time of year even though the season will soon be over.

Peace

I hate this time of year because the season will soon be over.

I'll have to go through arbiter to count, I'll get back with you on it. I'll promise it won't be close to your count, though.

I've got either 3 or 4 left..will know tomorrow....last of which will be on 3/10. I'm sort of not looking forward to the end. My last 4 games have all been very fun.....3 that went down to the wire....great crowds...lots of fun. If they were all like that, I could keep going indefinitely.

These games are the reason I love this time of year. High pressure, good crowds and the loser goes home. It is what makes March Madness fun at all levels. It has to end sometime. Also you could take up another sport and have something to do until then.

Peace

I've got 2 games left: Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning, in our provincial finals.

If I'm selected past round 2, I will work Tuesday night, and hopefully Wednesday morning, or even Wednesday night too.

I have a love-hate with this time of the year.

Two left for me, too. Ending earlier than I'd like, but that's out of my hands.

Saturday night, if the seeds hold, the gym will be absolutely packed for a really good game, third round, my last game of the season. It will be a good way to end the season. Game 58 (varsity/juco) for me, BTW. If I didn't have a day job and have to drive good distances for a lot of my games, I'd work more. As it is, I'll probably cut back a bit next season.

Over? Was it over when the German's bombed Pearl Harbor?

I have one more week to go, I think.

I keep getting emails and more assignments on Arbiter - Rec or Men's League tournaments or make-up games. But, I think next week is it.

I too look forward to a little yard work!

I finished 10 days ago. 13 HS games in the last 15 days, 11 of which were conference tournament or state playoff games. Ready for some rest and March Madness!

But I'll probably be ready to go again when AAU hits in early April.

Three more state assignments as the post-season state tourney advances, then something new and different for me this year. Taking a mini-vacation with the wife to watch the state semi-finals and finals, which means me watching basketball games and crews for three days and her enjoying room service and relaxing the whole time, spending all the money I earned from game fees.
NASO hotel discounts aren't valid there during tournament weekend, but I'm sure it will be worth the extra bucks.
Then summer camps.
Then do it all over again.
This is my social life.
