Thumbs up Best game ever?

7th grade boys local rec league game this morning. Final was 42-30. Here's what made it so great. We had no free throws. Total of 3 fouls first half, 2 fouls second half. Relatively few violations. Maybe 2 or 3 three second counts. No five or ten second counts. Not even a single complaint from any coach, player or spectator. The best part? Game was over in less than 45 minutes! The players and coaches came by after the game to thank us.

I was really expecting my alarm clock to go off at any moment.

I spoke too soon!

Had a similiar situation a couple of years ago with the first game of a 7th/8th grade girls DH. Isn't it a great feeling! At the conclusion of the 7th grade game I went to the table with my partner and asked everyone if they realized what just happened. They all shook their heads so I told them that we did not shoot any free throws. They were amazed. However, I believe I jinxed our 2nd game as we were at the free throw line with less than 5 seconds off of the clock - jump ball is tipped to a girl who is breaking toward her basket and gets fouled on the lay up!

I did my FIRST Men's League Game today......and in the first game we didn't have a foul until the 11:30 mark of the first half (20 minute halves). I told my partner this was unreal! He chuckled and said in the this league we rarely got into the one-and-one. Me -

Now, the second game, that was another story.......

PS - one guy in the first game appeared to tear his calf muscle and one in the second game ran into the gym exit door trying to make a great save - smashed his face - and he was 59 yrs old. Good hustle!

Us old guys think we still got it.......
