And I agree completely with Camron's earlier post. Each game is different and we have to officiate according to what is happening on the floor. I've had games where the combined foul total for both teams was less than 10, and others where we called 60+ total. Yes judgment is important in determining the difference between advantage/disadvantage and incidental contact, but if there is a disadvantage you need to blow the whistle....and as Rich said, keep doing it until they stop (or foul out if they're not smart enough to adjust).

Welpe, nice job on the foul calls
Recently U had a game where we called 65 fouls. In both halves both teams were in the double bonus by 6:00 minutes left in 2nd/4th quarter. It was terrible to officiate.
Sometimes people are just going to play that way, and you have to call fouls. No matter how much you talk to them, no matter how often you try to get them to calm down and play, they won't. And it happens a lot when a team tries to press and pressure the ball and they are not physically good enough to do it. |
