Enterring the court

I know the time entering the court is not to circle around the opponnet on their way to their side of the court. Where is this addressed in the rule book and what is the pentally?

Well it is really an interpretation the same way other sporting issues are usually an interpretation. My state told us to make this a team technical, your area might have a different take on this. This is not specifically stated in the rulebook outside of the POE listed in the back of the book or in the beginning of the S&I book.

Peace

The visting team is warming up on their end of the floor.
The home team enters on the same end & forms a line tableside & opposite table. Music comes on & they run to their end of the floor, circle each other on the endline & back up to the division line.

Is this what the NFHS is talking about OR are they speaking of when the circle actually happens on the other teams end??

If the home team entered at a corner, then they must go the shortest way to their end of the court -- the 1/2 that went to the other sideline would be in violation.

If the home team's locker room (or entrance to the gym) is directly under the visitor's basket, then you'd need to make some allowance, of course.

2011-12 POINTS OF EMPHASIS

1. SPORTING BEHAVIOR. The NFHS Basketball Rules Committee continues to
be concerned about the following behaviors:

A. Pregame Situations. Teams entering the gymnasium prior to the contest
should not run through the area occupied by the opposing team or under
the basket where opponents are warming up. Teams should only enter, jog
or warm-up on their own half of the court. Gatherings intended to
motivate a team after the warm-up period, during or following player
introductions and post-game celebrations should be performed in the area
directly in front of the team bench. If during the pregame or half-time
warm-up period one team leaves the floor, the other team should not use
the entire court; teams should only warm-up on their half of the court.
Only authorized personnel should be permitted on the floor. All spectators
should be in designated areas.
