Be nice to the table

I'm taking this season off due to knee injuries so I thought I would help out at the local school at the C games because I know from experience that they have trouble getting adults at that table.

Definitely a learning curve. I didn't do too badly but I'm glad I've been nice to the tables when I've been reffing.

I wish I would have done that last season.

I'm always nice to the table. Now, if you're talking about the people at the table, that's a different matter.

I got roped into working the clock at a camp setting once. They kept score and had stop clock periods and, quite frankly, I was terrible at it.

One thing it did was remind me to have some patience for those doing the job, especially when working the occasional lower level game. It's not easy. That said, at the varsity level they need to have someone competent doing that work. Especially since some of them are getting paid more than I am, which I still don't understand, BTW. Probably a supply/demand thing.
