We have no such procedure, but I have to tell ya, I've been using your two-count for about a year, and although I haven't set the ball on the deck yet, there must be something in the tone of my Fox that tells 'em I will, cuz I have yet to have any team ignore my second *Tweet!!!*
Thanks, Tony.
We had our first one in about 3 years about a week ago. It was a game between two private schools. The defensive team didn't respond and after the two count and the second whistle, my partner toss the ball to the thrower. East bsket.

Coach never howled a word.
I savor the chance to do that. Same thing for me twice last year. Throw-in team was ready, partner was ready, here y'go!
Defense really runs fast, eh?
Good tool, and like you said, no complaints. Even the fans know the rule.

You were watching my game? That is a habit I am trying to break myself. While I don't blow on FT's I do have a tendency to give the whistle a TOOT everytime I put the ball in play. Need to work on that.

Not unless you were working at Carmel HS in Carmel, CA. This guy had no (here you go Rut) "presence" at all -- know that can't be you.

Actual mechanic is only for throw-in.

In the officials manual, the three instances of blowing the whistle before resuming play are all under resuming play by throw-in (procedure 220). There is no specification for a whistle during free throw administration. (Procedures 240 to 251).

There are no exceptions noted in the manual/rules concerning sounding the whistle following a timeout or intermission. Why make up one ??
