UIL is the acronym for University Intersholastic league

in my country(israel)the minimum age is 16 and in this age i started to call games
There is no "official minimum age" to start officiating in the US because there is no single governing body for this. For instance, one association to which I belonged has a minimum age of 18, another 16. However, in the rec league I administer, we start training refs and giving them games once they are freshmen in high school. This would translate to age 13, 14 or 15 in most cases.

There are always some legal implications, so many associations will not offer membership to anyone under the "legal age" of 18.

Yup,you're now calling the play according to the "plane" rules.I figured it was just a language mix-up,but it could have possibly confused the newer officials that come here.
Okay I will just try and clarify that if there is no contact, then I do not call "over the back" but rather a "push" if there is indeed contact. Is that better?

Sorry, not quite sure what you are asking here.

I don't think you will find 13 year old boys (or girls) officiating at the high school varsity or even JV level anywhere. We start our new officials at 3rd, 4th and sometimes 5th grade.

[/B][/QUOTE]Jeremy,I know that you know the rules quite well. That was apparent from your post. The problem was just the statement you made that there WEREN'T any "plane" rules. That statement could be very easily misconstrued by new officials, and possibly confuse them.I was just trying to clarify that point, not question your application of the "plane" rules.
