I like the idea of the pizza party. But, allot of our teenage refs play in the evening 16/18 league. I may make the suggestion though.

Our teenage refs play on Friday nights, which is why we have the party after the final afternoon games on Saturday. Actually, the party starts relatively early (4:00) and goes to about 6:00. That way everyone can still go out on a Saturday night or, if you're my age, be in bed by 7:00 as usual.

The league pays for all the pizza, salads and soft drinks. A few of the guys order beer and they have to pay for it themselves. It costs the league around $125 - $150 (a relatively small amount when you consider the size of the league - about 700 players who pay from $95 to $110 in annual registration fees) but we spend time discussing the past season and making suggestions for next year. We've done this for quite a few years and it's really a lot of fun.
