Protocol for rowdy fans?
First year official, just my 6th (or so) HS game tonight (C boys). Had this one total jerk in the seats who, throughout the first half, was hollering about how we were blowing every call. Literally, there was a stretch where after every foul called he screamed how it was the worst call ever, after every contact with no call he screamed how we didn't have whistles, and in general felt it necessary to let us know we were doing just about the worst job he'd ever seen.
Anyway, what's the protocol to deal with this situation? Stop play, find the AD, have him/her take care of it? If it continues? My partner talked to the AD at the half and I didn't hear a peep from him the rest of the way. Although it could be that he was asked to leave and was no longer there. |

Usually people ask game management to take care of things like this when the abuse is over the top. But this is really a local issue where things might be different in your area and how these situations are handled. But it sounds like your partner took care of it well enough to where there was not a problem. But ultimately this is something you should ask the people in your area as these things might have different procedures in other parts of the country. But usually game management should take care of this, but that might not always be the case.
Peace
