Maybe it was their idea and he just signed off on it, but I'd bet he had a lot of input.
I did not say he had no input. I said it might not have been his idea or vision for the court.

Peace

Gotcha. I'm leaning towards the fact that it was in fact his vision. For that kind of money, I'd have to be thrilled with the result. Especially if it has my name attached to it. Maybe that's just me.

Where's Bigfoot ???

First fan to find Sasquatch among the trees gets a free pedicure, from Matt Groening, during halftime, in the center circle. Really.

Maybe you are right, but I heard it was not his vision or original idea. That is why I made the statements as it appeared the symbolism was not a original Nike idea or design (there is no Nike logo or other Nike symbolism on the court). Then again there have been many reports about what actually motivated this and why these kinds of trees and colors were used.

Peace

Symbolism for the first UO team that won the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship, whose nickname was "The Tall Firs".

From a Yahoo article:

Considering Oregon's deep-rooted ties to Nike, it shouldn't surprise anyone that Tinker Hatfield is the designer of the floor. Hatfield, a former Oregon track and field star and vice president of design and special projects for Nike, designed many of the shoes from the famed Air Jordan line.

Ah, but if I'm paying for someone to paint your house and you choose a horrible paint color pattern, and it's going to be advertised world wide with my son's name (including my last name) on it, you can bet your last dollar I'd be approving of the final product and involved in its development.

Fair enough. But if they are paying for the paint, and your choices are let them paint it or watch it rot down, you may have to make a tough decision about the solution to the problem.

I was simply pointing out who designed the court. I honestly hadn't really followed along with the little argument that was going on.

And I was simply saying who was responsible for the idea. And who is responsible is not necessarily the person that actually did the design. Someone can give the designer the ideas or the vision and you run with it.

Peace
