Nope, the literal meaning is "piss off, dickhead". 24/7/365, counting Christmas.

The kinder, gentler JR doesn't work on holidays.

It is my contention that Mark Padgett, like any other red-blooded, God-fearing, basketball official, actually loves the excitement of working an overtime game. That his anti-overtime posturing is actually a ruse. Why? I don't know. Only he knows. It is also my contention, that he has been putting forward this Forum persona for so long, that he may actually have started believing it himself. Since he'll never give it up voluntarily, I am forced to constantly hound him about this ruse, hoping to break him down. I won't stop this campaign until I take my last Forum breath, or Mark Padgett takes his last Forum breath, whichever comes first.

Yes, I know the story. It would be nice if people wouldn't make these jokes every time the word overtime comes up and would just discuss basketball officiating. It isn't like this is some new joke you just came up with, it has been said literally thousands of times. Ok, you want to say it once more...but four times in a row? That is over the top.

I'm not doing that. Then I never get to see what he has to say.

At least I don't need to make myself feel cool though cyber bullying.

That wasn't cyber bullying. That was a plea on behalf of all of us that we would appreciate it if you would piss off. But piss off in a kinder, gentler way if it's not too much trouble.

Please.

Now shoo, shoo......

Shoo!

Not sure JR does anything to "make himself feel cool." He's kinda like our grouchy old grandfather. It's okay when he yells at us, and it's actually kinda fun when he yells at you. (not just you, but, in this particular case, you)

I really don't mean it when I yell at you guys. Guys like Cobra? I honestly hope they have a great Christmas....somewhere else. :D

A worthy goal. I really used to think that myself. But then I would miss out on a lot of fun. Seriously, if you want basketball officiating discussion, and only basketball officiating discussion, mosey on over to the NFHS forum. They take this officiating stuff a lot more seriously than most of us do. While your over there, say hello to my twin brother, Billy Mac (with a space).

As Mark T. DeNucci, Sr.'s good friend, Senator Harry S. Truman, used to say, "If you don't like the heat, get out of the kitchen".

Sounds like you might want to start your own forum, where you can dictate what and how everyone else posts.

No. More like the crazy uncle, you all know, the guy that everyone thinks is kind of creepy, but we can't quite put our finger on it. We see him a few times a year, on major holidays, and then we try to remember not to invite him next year, but we always forget, and he get invited back.
