I don't know - I just think he was expressing some valid frustrations about certain poster's (arguably) neither funny nor on-topic posts. I happen to share his opinion about those posters, but I would never complain out loud because of exactly what happened in this thread. I don't want to argue about what people should or shouldn't post - that's futile. There are moderators for that. But expressing some frustration over some of the Billy Mac and Padgett posts is valid, in my opinion. If people can pile on chseagle, why not the others? Sure we can put people on ignore. But we also should be able to express some frustration, as other people with higher post counts do all the time.

I don't mind BillyMac and Padgett, though. They actually post about officiating from time to time.

I'm serious on the court. The day this place becomes "serious" all the time is the day I probably quit coming here.

Some people's posts bug me more than other's. I'm sure everyone has their own tolerance level. And I agree that there is a place for the friendly banter and funny commentary. I just think it's fair for someone to post their opinion about it and not have to be told to leave if they do. It's a public forum and I think the moderators do a fine job of keeping this place a great place to get officiating information. Cobra can't dictate what people post any more than you or I could. My only point was that there was a quite a bit of irony in the way many people responded to what he said.

Hey? My posts off topic posts deserve criticism. Lots of criticism. Please leave Mark Padgett, and chseagle out of this discussion. Mark Padgett is the comedy king of the Forum. chseagle is ... uh .. let's see ... chseagle.

Happy Holidays Boys !!!!!!

Rich - you are right on. Have had some great dialogue with Billy Mac concerning IAABO up in Connecticut.

If I ever have to be completely serious on this site then I am gone.

BTW - 5 overtimes in a D II game last year.

Free throws attempted total = 93

Fouls combined 68

Coaches were quiet as church mice in the OT's !!!!!!!!!

They probably had no voices left and were looking for oxygen masks.

Now I know you have no clue what you're talking about. The day I get called a bleeding heart liberal and it is anywhere near correct is the day hell froze over.

I just believe in being respectful to others....some clearly don't.

Who says that Pacific Northwest, tree-hugging, pot smoking, hippies, can't be conservatives?

chseagle,

I had two OT's the other night...oh yeah, you and your wife were at the table.

Good job...

...now, what did you think of my partner's foul call with .3 seconds left and the score tied at the end of regulation? You remember, double bonus, foul at the "top of the key"? (The kid missed both FT's and we went to 1st OT)

(Before you answer, you won't hurt his feelings...he is a good friend of mine and a great official)

chseagle Mon Dec 27, 2010 07:42pm

I'd have to watch a replay to appropriately comment on that foul.

Concerning the shot clock resets with the kick balls, I didn't see the kick ball signal clearly.

Thankfully with patience I'm getting the V Timer to be more attentive as she was mentioning to do shot clock reset as was signaled to do so.

With time we're working more cooperatively especially with helping one another on seeing things.

Dad says that so far this year, your crew was the best we had for officiating concerning calling of fouls & violations.
