I'm right there with you, rev.
I just got off the phone with the ortho, and I'll be having a knee scope done on January 6. 1 week of recover and 6 weeks of therapy after makes me out for this season.

Hang in there rev! I know what you are going through as I had to sit out of the 2009 football season due to just having moved. I will tell you though, getting out on the field the next season was a great feeling. This season will be up before you know it.

I had knee surgery about 2 1/2 weeks ago. I am in PT, but I am out on the court also. You may be surprised at how quickly you can come back.

Oh man, sorry to hear about your surgery. Had meniscus surgery several years ago after tearing it doing center on 2 soccer games. Hope your scope goes well and you're back to 100% soon.

The surgery they're having isn't a lobotomy (just saying).

I had done far more than two centers of soccer matches, but I also tore mine doing a soccer match. Kids do the darndest things, even the excellent players (this was a game between two top notch U-17 boys teams).

MRI showed the meniscii were fine, severe cartilage bruising under the knee cap. Hopefully the scope can clean it up.

Found out I'll be doing some biddy ball tomorrow, though. I told the assigner I won't be running; he said he needs the help and it's a small court. We'll see how much vicadin I take tomorrow afternoon.

Well, for the doctors to do that, wouldn't there have to be somethin' in there to remove? (just sayin')

rev and Snaqs - good luck on the recovery. My only suggestion would be to FOLLOW THE DOCTOR'S ORDERS. And, in case that doesn't work, listen to what they say, and do what they tell you. I've seen too many recoveries take longer, because someone "feels fine", overextends themselves and makes things worse. Believe me, I was tempted to do the same thing after my back surgery, but grumbled all through the recovery, did what they said, avoided the temptation to do everything when I felt fine, and I've been great ever since. (Even the scars from the lobotomy have healed nicely...)

Big deal. How big a scar can you get from tweezers?

As soon as Snaqs finds his quote for me, I'll pass it along to you.
