I read a similiar story the week you posted, which made me wonder why you got so much flak. It seemed to be common knowledge that the Cal player faked the injury, not that the officiating crew could do anything about it.

I don't know whether it was a matter of flak or just a case of most respondants pointing out that the actual officiating of the game had nothing to do with the faking of injury problem. They're 2 very separate topics.

I never saw anything where Mark indicated that the officiating crew did anything wrong. The thread was on dishonesty. He brought up the Cal player faking an injury and that the Pac-10 had stated that NCAA rules did not address it. That was pretty much it. Sure seemed like dishonesty on the part of the Cal player and coach to me.

That's exactly right. I didn't imply or state the officials did anything wrong. My issue was with the Cal player faking the injury.

All I said was the videos didn't prove anything. I stand by that.

The video I saw today on SportsCenter was pretty damning. Pretty naive' to think it wasn't.

In the LSU-Arkansas game, an Arkansas player was injured and slow to get up while Arkansas was trying to run the clock out near the end. Officials, correctly I understand, killed the clock at the 1:40 mark I think, and didn't start it again until the next snap. Arkansas coach kinda came unglued and launched a stream of profanity into the ear of any nearby official. What would it take for a D1 head coach to draw an unsportsmanlike conduct flag?

Nothing but the usual fanboy nonsense anyway, Adam. Got nothing really to do with officials or officiating. Let 'em all whine at each other as much as they want as long as they keep away from us.
