Thanksgiving Day games.

I was just wondering. I will be working a Thanksgiving Tournament tonight and wonder how common that is in other areas. It is not common where I live, but there are one or two tournaments that are doing that. How many have worked such a tournament and how many have those kinds of tournaments in your area?

Peace

"Area" is a broad term. I have worked a few and really enjoy them. There are not many but they are increasing. Since I am not a fan of Tday or Christmas, I don't mind working on those days. Now don't you DARE try to schedule me over the 4th of July!!!

Scrooge.

We don't have any around here from what I know but I have been wrong before.

Turkey...then Basketball

Just across the lake from Rut a Thanksgiving tournament would fall outside the earliest allowable competition date for both girls and boys as mandated by the state. Girls starts the week after Thanksgiving, the 30th, with boys starting the week after that, which makes for a staggered state tourney schedule at the end of the season.
We did have Thanksgiving tourneys back "in the day" (the early 70's), which really messed up our traditional deer hunting schedules back then.

I did use the term "area" broadly. Actually the tournament I am working is in Central Illinois not far from where I grew up. There are two tournaments I am aware of, the one I worked included that has games on Thanksgiving (I work in both too but only one on this day). I just wondered as I have not heard of another tournament that plays on this day in the state. I am sure there are other tournaments, I just have not seen them yet.

Peace
