Yes...we have had the shot clock for Girls fior quite some time, and the Boys was just added last season.

There it is. I got my Pacific Northwest states mixed up. Thanks for the heads up.

For those of you dealing with a shot clock in high school, how do you guys like it? Some here in Maine want it, but I'm not sure it will get the results they desire. Besides, I personally fear there will be more mistakes to fix (resetting, not resetting) to make it worthwhile, especially in sub-varsity games.

In the games I've done where I've been shot clock, the shot clock resets have been few & far between (once or twice a season).

In the JV/C games, where I'm timer, there have been a few times I've done both shot clock & timer with no resets needed,

I have been training a few people on shot clock as well. Also when my wife is on shot clock, the resets are few & far between as well.

My experience has been that some shot clock operators reset the clock when they shouldn't, such as when there's a held ball and Team A has the arrow.

Sometimes they don't reset it quickly enough when there's a change of possession, they don't reset it when the ball hits the rim or they even reset when the ball goes OOB.

The errors happen a lot more often than once or twice a season.

When I do shot clock, I am always watching the ball very closely & in case on AP/OOB I pay close attention to the floor officials as to who will get the ball.

The once/twice is on average, for having to do resets due to errors.

Not every school has an eagle-eyed shot clock operator though.

I'm not doubting you, but that makes you better than many of the JuCo / D-3 / NAIA tables around here.

Wow.

If there was a smilie or something at the end of that post, I might think it was funny. As it is, it's just offensive and stupid.
