I actually have a prescription painkiller I take when, for example, I have a day with 4 or 5 rec games in a row without a break.

A few years ago, when I told one of my partners about that, he said "Well, that explains a lot."

Just in time to pound the hardwood. Do they sell extra strength for the extra whiny coaches?

Actually, they are not at all the same....and proper dosing is completely different.

Advil, Motrin, and Nuprin are all common brand names for the generic ibuprofen.

Aleve, and Naprosyn are two common brand names for naproxen.

The two groups are NOT the same and have very different dosing instructions. It would not be a good idea to confuse the two.

What Cameron said - this is important.

The other thing to remember, as my wife the RN keeps reminding me, is that these drugs are anti-inflamatories not de-inflamatories. They work much better if you take them an hour or so before your game than after the fact.

Amen!

(In the intereset of full disclosure, other than officiating Upward basketball, I am no longer officiating.)

My ibprofen use changes racquetball from a 1 hour experience to 2 hours with little degradation of skills.

Where is the Racquetball forum?

I have it on good authority that the Racquetball Forum is actually on the drawing board.

It's priority # 2, right behind the long overdue, Basketball Table Crew Forum.

Acetylsalicylic Acid ...

I'm fortunate that I have a stomach made of cast iron so aspirin is my drug of choice. One low dose (81 mg) aspirin before I go to bed each night. Two adult strength (325 mg) aspirin before I work a basketball game.
