Lost a Friend
North Dakota lost a long-time umpire over the weekend to cancer. He told me last winter he wanted to be around to see his son graduate in May 2008, and he did. If any of you knew Bobby Larson, you may view his obituary here:
Robert "Bobby" Larson Obituary Bobby got me started umpiring fast pitch about five yars ago. I consider him one of my mentors and I will miss him on the diamond this spring. Doug H.

I had the pleasure to meet and work two ASA Nationals with Bobby, both in his hometown of Minot; a Men's FP Masters 45+ and a Men's A FP. Bobby was an excellent umpire, a true gentleman, and a great host.
He will be missed.

I had the honor to work 2 ASA Nationals with Bobby - 1996 Girl's 18U-A in Eden Prairie, MN and the 1997 Men's A in Minot, ND.
Bobby was a wonderful man and a very good umpire. You were Bobby's friend from the instant he shook your hand. All of us will miss you.
