OT - you think you're weird?

This fall, IFC (Independent Film Channel - a cable network) will run a mini-series on how weird it is here in Portland. It will be called "Portlandia". Produced by SNL producer Lorne Michaels, it will star Kyle MacLachlan as the Portland mayor. The real mayor, Sam Adams (who is openly gay, not that there's anything wrong with that), will appear in the first episode as the assistant mayor.

Also in the series' premiere, viewers will meet the owners of a lesbian book store; a militant bike messenger; an artsy couple who put cut-outs of birds on everything; and a punk rock couple negotiating a "safe word" to help govern their love life. The series is shot entirely on location in Portland.

If they really want to show something weird, they should come and film some of my games.

BTW - the most popular bumper sticker around here is "Keep Portland Weird" - followed by "Don't Californicate Oregon".
